The Equine SNP70 Beadchip is a dense chip, covering the entire horse genome with 65k evenly spaced SNPs. The chip is a suitable tool to enable identification of genes and polymoprhisms that contribute to traits of interest in all major horse breeds.
Test specific information
Regarding BeadChips for Illumina genotyping, several options exist. Through our collaboration with Geneseek, we are able to offer a wide range of BeadChips including custom products and the regular range of Illumina chips. In addition, we can offer a custom set, dedicated to your needs.
The majority of Illumina BeadChips is based on a 24-sample format. This means, that a requirement may be in place to submit a minimum of 24 samples. This does not apply to BeadChips that are run frequently.
Depending on the customer pricing, a rerun may or may not be included automatically. This is furthermore depending on sample type, quality and quantity of the sample or DNA submitted. For your information, we are able to run BeadChips using almost any sample type.
We are able to offer BeadChips for any species, provided that sequence information is available.
Please contact us before submitting samples for this test.
The Turnaround Time (TAT) depends on various factors, such as the shipment time of your sample to the test location, the test method(s) and whether the tests are performed completely or partially by a Partner Lab or Patent owner.
The TAT of tests performed at our facilities is normally 10 working days after receipt of the sample at the testing laboratory (VHL, VHP or Certagen). For tests performed by a Partner Laboratory (so-called "partner lab test") or patent owner, the TAT is at least 20 working days after receipt of your sample. Because the shipment time to our Partner Labs or patent owner may vary due to factors we cannot influence, the mentioned 20 working days are therefore an estimate.
Sometimes it is necessary to re-run your sample. We call this a retest. In that case, the TAT will of course be extended.
